Just so you know, the picture you're looking at is made by AI, but it's my face, so no need to get all weirded out or worried. I'm just not a fan of cameras, that's all. Thanks! You may carry on now.

Hello, wonderful ladies, and gentlemen!
Sooooo great to have you here! I'm Charisse Ann, but you can just call me Ris if that's too long for you. I'm 19, and I've been a a versatile professional video editor and graphic designer for over 2 years and 2 months.
I graduated with an Associate Vocational Degree in Graphic Design and Video Editing about a year back, and before that, I finished Senior High School with a focus on Tourism Production, so I've got some background in design and video editing related to tourism, but not on a pro level.

To me, what sets a video apart isn't just the editing. Even if you're that amazing at video editing, without this secret sauce, it won't connect with the audience.
When I got serious about editing, I made a promise to always prioritize storytelling. Everyone talks about it, right? Not just in video editing, but in graphic design, motion design, web design, and even copywriting.
Because that's it - the secret sauce that your audience craves in their video.
But some people often misunderstand its true meaning. Sure, using graphics can make visuals pop, helping viewers understand your message.
Yet, it's not about focusing on more graphics, sound effects, or transitions, ya know, that just overwhelms your audience, seriously.
Put yourself in their shoes - if you were the viewer, how would you feel? What would you tweak if you were the editor? If you found a part boring, it's likely your viewers will too. As a professional, you know when to cut to keep the video engaging.
So, as a video editor, I always prioritize the essentials and empathize with the viewer's perspective.
